About
Berlin-based photographer Felix Gundlach (he/him) discovered his passion for photography during his
youth when he had his first experience in photography and darkroom printing at school. The fascination for
this craft did not fade away and as a result, a professional apprenticeship as a photographer followed
holding room to evolve skills on a high level and improve technical standards. Next to photography he
started working with moving images for a while, collecting a variety of experiences in camera and directing.
The scenic thinking learned in these times is transferred to photographic works and ways of thinking until
today.
Besides precise lighting, reflections, and aligned colors, the surroundings of everyday life as well as happy
coincidences significantly characterize his conceptual thinking. The importance of going with the flow and
organically letting things happen is determining the core of his work. High demand for personal working
routines and creative outcomes is a matter of course and never to be left out of focus.
Catching the spirit of the times and the vision of questioning social and cultural barriers, his work merges
documentary and editorial dimensions and covers various contextual aspects.
